5 Life Lessons From Watching How I Met Your Mother

How I met your mother is a American sitcom that I watch religiously even though it's finished it is always playing on E4 and I love it! The series is about a group of friends that live in Manhattan the main character is Ted Mosby who is constantly falling in and out of love but in desperate to find the one. Marshall Eriksen a environment lawyer and Lily Aldrin a nursery teacher and aspiring artist who together are head over heels in love and are the most adorable couple. Robin Sherbatsky who originally lived in Canada and was a Pop sensation in her home town but after becoming unhealthily obsessed with Paul Shaffer, turned grunge and her career sadly ended, she then moved to New York to work for Metro News 1. Last but not least Barney Stinson, Ted Mosbys wing-man and a complete womanizer and uses multiple tips and tricks to bed multiple women and wrote them all down in his "Playbook". The program has being going for a hell of a long time so this is just a quick over view of the characters even if you don't watch this program you can still relate to these 5 life lessons.

1. When your in a relationship all your single friends will think your being really gross and weird.

It's true no matter how much your friends love you, if you start pulling out the cute nicknames and start showing the slightest bit of public affection they will think your gross end of, the only way they wont is when they have somebody to be weird and gross with too simple.

2. You probably wont find love if your constantly looking for it.

Ted mosby is a perfect example he constantly thinks hes found the one, it almost always ends up in tears (or fire in some cases) simply because he keeps looking with his expectations high. Towards the end of the series he gets real and gives some pretty good advice and FINALLY finds the one.

"You can ask the universe for a sign all you want, but ultimately, we only see what we want to see when we're ready for it." - Ted Mosby

"You can't force destiny. If it's gonna happen, it's gonna happen." - Ted Mosby

3. Nothing good happens after 2am.

"When 2am rolls around, just go home and go to sleep!" It's true seriously what good has happened to you after 2am? Your probably sleep deprived and theirs weirdo's out on the street and i'm guessing drunk.. get home and get to bed (before you lose your phone as well as your shoes!)

4. You wont get your dream job over night.
This is why I love how I met your mother it's pretty real in that sense they all want something that's pretty hard to reach.. Robin wants to be a Tv Anchor, Ted wants to be a Architect and Lilly wants to be a artist. But along side of living their busy New York lives they keep there dreams within arms length keep trying and trying again until they succeed.

5. When arguing remember how much you love the other person.

this works with friendships too it's not about winning its about compromising no matter how perfect your relationship is you wont always see eye to eye with everything just take time out and set your ego aside "..And remember that the love you have for that other person is way more important than winning." - Lily Aldrin
